More than just the serious stuff…

While there are some serious moments throughout the season, there is always time to have some fun. We play friendlies against local sides, play in Six a side competitions, and along with the men’s sides organise a fund-raising night! Last up for us was a Mexican night this year the heady heights of a bingo night!!

Well why   not?!   I,   as   a   coach,   like   to   think we   are   a   bit   different. We   are   not   afraid   to   try   new   things! We   play   cricket   at   the weekend, we   are   not a   professional   team, we   need   to   enjoy what we   do   and who we   play with!!   Its   more   than   just   a   cricket   club   its   become   more   a way   of   life.   Many of   us   play   men’s   cricket,   and   we   are   fully   integrated   as   a   club   with   pitch   priority   given   to   us   on   Sundays   for   our   Ladies   1st   XI   games.   We   do everything   in   our   power   to   involve   all   our   players   in   all   our   games,   and   in   doing   this   still   manage   to   win   more   than   we   lose.   Also   we   invest   in female coaches, with the firm belief we need our colts to be coached by female role models! New to cricket? Worried you will not be good enough? Please just come down and give it a go you may even like it!!
